Debridement Facilitator

Wound debridement agents are critical in wound care for removing dead or non-viable tissue, promoting a clean wound bed, and enhancing the healing process. These agents can be mechanical, enzymatic, autolytic, or surgical. Mechanical debridement uses physical force, such as wound irrigation, to remove debris. Enzymatic debridement involves topical applications of proteolytic enzymes that break down necrotic tissue. Autolytic debridement employs moisture-retentive dressings like hydrogels or hydrocolloids to enable the body's own enzymes to digest dead tissue. Surgical debridement is performed by healthcare professionals to quickly remove necrotic tissue, often necessary for severe wounds. Proper debridement helps reduce infection risk and creates a more conducive environment for tissue regeneration.

Works well on the oozing venous stasis/diabetic leg. Absorbs excess exudate in the wound and keeps it clean and adequately moist. It is easy to remove the dressing, it does not stick. Ordered more. Thank you!
